A ‘natural’ cure for cancer? ‘Weed’ you believe it?!
You may hate those pesky garden weeds, but they’re really not all that bad if recent news is anything to go by! In the world of conventional medicine, a treatment for skin damage that can leads to cancer has been cleverly developed from the sap of the common garden weed known as picato.
The active ingredient in the gel comes from the sap, best known as milkweed, and works as a fast-acting treatment for actinic keratosis (AK), a condition which causes red, rough patches on the face, as well as a balding scalp.
Actinic keratosis affects around two million people aged 40 and over, but that being said it’s still a relatively unknown condition, and the sandpaper patches, if left untreated, are responsible for two-thirds of cases of squamous cell carcinoma – a non-melanoma form of skin cancer.
Used for centuries as a traditional medicine for sun damaged skin, recent research shows the ancient sages were right about the benefits of the sap of this common weed.
This recent news emphasizes to us here at NaturalCures just how important plants and herbs can be in the reduction of symptoms and the eradication of illnesses.
