Aspartame and Hillary Clinton: The story continues…

Just over a week ago our regular contributor and aspartame expert Dr Betty Martini shared her opinion on the belief that Hillary Clinton’s blood clot was caused by aspartame. Today, she offers her thoughts on the latest news regarding the dangerous sweetener.

Blindness

The cover of the National Enquirer reads ‘Hillary is going blind’ and ‘Hillary has been suffering from vision issues related to her blackouts and memory loss, but additional testing resulted in a diagnosis that she might have a rare optical nerve condition that will lead to blindness,’ explained a family insider.

The Enquirer had also reported Hillary was undergoing tests for a brain tumor some weeks ago, and it was found she had a blood clot in the brain.  Aspartame breaks down to diketopiperazine – a brain tumor agent.

Memory loss, impaired vision and blindness, as well as blackouts are big-time aspartame problems listed on the FDA list of 92 symptoms.

From the records of ophthalmologist and methanol specialist, Dr. Morgan Raiford, are the following comments dating back 25 years:

May 20, 1987: Facts about aspartame

“The above product is also manufactured as NutraSweet. This pharmological spin-off is as highly profitable item with a growing market. These products are used as a sweetener, some 200 times as sweet as regular cane sugar.

“This product has some highly toxic reactions in the human visual pathway and we are beginning to observe the tragic damage to the optic never, such as blindness, partial to total optic nerve atrophy . Once this destructive process has developed there is no return of visual restoration. We are beginning to see and observe another toxic reaction, which affects the central nervous system which is related to phenylalanine levels in the central nervous system. These observations are more vague, however, it stimulates the damaging to the brain and the central nervous system, having the manifestations as PKU neuro damage . Over 3000 cases have been reported and the FDA to date has ignored this existence.

Are you aware of the dangers of aspartameHuman visual pathway damage

“The human visual pathway admits ninety per cent of our intellectual input to the brain and central nervous system. All of the learning processes are centered during ones life time. The mechanism of this tragic damage to the human visual system from this product is and has been known for over a decade that visual loss takes place. When this drug enters the digestive tract, largely the upper portion, this aspartame molecule spins off a by product known as methanol or methyl-alcohol.

“This product enters the blood stream and when these portions reach the highly metabolic region of the optic nerve and retina, partial atrophy can and does take place. The vision can not do without oxygen and nutrition for more than ninety seconds without revealing some damage.

“Total loss of vision is present and there is no return. In the very early stages in which is referred to as the “wet stage”, treatment can be given and will reserve the destructive pathology to the optic nerve and retina. This must be in the mind of the physician and he must understand the chemical ongoing process. The writer has seen many cases where the patent was allowed to go to the degrees of blindness, as this diagnosis of optic neuritis was rendered, as the term idiopathic neuritis of optic nerve was given, usually steroids until systemic gross body and facial moon developed.

“This therapy has demonstrated the total lack of understanding of the basic lack of bio-chemical physiology at the molecular level.

“The variability or onset of the optic nerve atrophy  is of a type that one must first think of this pathology, and it requires a certain amount of listening to the patient. The quantity of symptoms vary with each patient.

Nervous system

“Over the past year the writer has observed the fact that any portion of the central nervous system can and is affected. Since the chemical phenylalanine  is mixed up with some metabolic mess, we have seen symptoms of varying hue in the extremities, sensations of dullness of the intellect, visual shadows, evidence of word structure reversing and some hearing impairment is noted by the individual. This can and will in time cause problems in learning. The medical community must alert itself that we have a problem that has surfaced due to the factor of the drug industry. Parents must be alerted to the side reactions of this toxic product and its reactions.”

Sincerely,

Morgan B. Raiford, M.D. D.Sc (Med) Ophthalmology

Diet Coke

The entire Clinton family appears to use aspartame/Diet Coke.  President Clinton first found out about aspartame when he had dinner with Dr. H. J. Roberts (Aspartame Disease: An Ignored Epidemic) who gave him a couple of his books.  Unfortunately he didn’t get off of it and ended up with by-pass surgery.  A recent study showed aspartame causes heart attacks and strokes.

However, it has been known for decades.  Aspartame causes an irregular heart rhythm and interacts with all cardiac medication.  It damages the cardiac conduction system and causes sudden cardiac death.

What are your thoughts on this news regarding aspartame? Will you be ditching soda containing the sweetener? Share your opinion below; we’d love to hear from you.

You clearly need a new take on aspartame and a spokesperson that knows something about the subject. Ms Martini and her questionable cohorts have perpetuated this aspartame myth for over twenty years. They have tried to get it banned for twenty years, but with NO success at every step both in and out of this country. Name any success?

The evidence has never supported her point of view and the inaccuracies have been exposed all over the web including specifically at http://whatdoesthesciencesay.wordpress.com/2010/06/13/aspartame-and-formaldehyde. Moreover, this web site and other locations on the web have documented the questionable characters of some of her antiaspartame cohorts.

It is a vast understatement to say that science is actually solidly against her point of view. That’s because some 99.99% of real scientists disagree with any safety issue with aspartame and that of “her experts”. And that includes again just a week ago with the EFSA again reiterating aspartame’s safety. Martini’s posts are on the wrong side of this matter. Frankly, such allegations have become as laughable as Don Quixote’s attack on windmills.

Regardless though, the proof lies not in her opinion, nor in my explanations of the science, but in the facts that no relevant regulatory agency has banned aspartame. That is now 90+ countries with they the best scientific talent anywhere. So I ask isn’t 90+ countries enough to make you rethink your opinion? When is your website and Ms Martini going to wake up? Einstein’s “definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results”, Albert Einstein).

If it was created in a lab (chemicals), I don’t add it to my diet. (PERIOD) and I definitely think twice when the government says its okay. Drug companies and politics, not good.

Hi John, I am posting this on behalf of Dr Betty Martini, who cannot get access to the site at the moment. It’s a snippet from the updated Aspartame Rebutal:

EFSA Proclaimed: “The Panel’s draft re-evaluation report says that the current Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI) of 40 mg/kg bw/day is safe and not in need of revision. The ADI prescribes the healthy amount that a substance may be consumed daily, over an entire lifetime.”

This is pure fiction! Aspartame was approved by most countries (example New Zealand) without any local studies since they relied on the FDA. It was simply rubberstamped. In England approval was through a business deal with Paul Turner. Parliament had a big blowout but approval was not rescinded. http://www.wnho.net/how_aspartame_got_approved_in_england.htm

In the article “No Safe Dose for Aspartame” http://www.thenhf.com/article.php?id=3442 the lead FDA investigator told Congress you couldn’t even set an Allowable Daily Intake because aspartame caused brain tumors and cancer in original studies. He warned it violated the Delaney Amendment because its illegal to approve anything that causes cancer. Dr. Gross’ last remarks: “If the FDA violates its own laws who is left to protect the public?”

The FDA recently admitted they didn’t even do a NAOEL (No Adverse Observed Effect Level” for methanol in aspartame. This makes them guilty of violating the data quality act. Furthermore, EFSA’s web site states aspartame does not get into the bloodstream, which is a dead giveaway that the aspartame industry is writing the propaganda. Monsanto used this lie in 1999 when Dr. Peter Nunn was about to do an aspartame/braintumor study. http://rense.com/health3/asptumor.htm and said “It is physiologically impossible for aspartame to cause brain tumors because it never enters the bloodstream and thus cannot travel to essential organs, including the brain.”

Hi John. I’m posting the following on behalf of Betty also:

      John Garst:

If there was any truth in anything you have said, there would be a dramatic change since 1998. The studies still show aspartame to be unsafe. Victims are still having grand mal seizures and birth defects are skyrocketing. Pregnant women are told to take folic acid, but it hasn’t made a difference in all these autistic babies and today the cases are epidemic:
      Autism Occurrence

      • New Rate of Autism 1 in 88 (March 2012)
      • Pediatrics Reports- One in 91 Children in the United States Has Autism (October 2009)
      • CDC: One in 110 American Children has Autism (December 2009)
      • AUTISM OCCURRENCE: One in every 88 children in the US has autism ( read CDC March 2012 Study). It is estimated that approximately 1.5 million individuals in the U.S. has autism. (Note: This number and the following statistics below do NOT include: PDD, Aspergers and other spectrum disorders.) These statistics are endorsed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), American Academy of Pediatrics, and other federal agencies.

      Now you say studies prior to 1998 are invalid, and then say ” in fact the same problem exists for ALL aspartame studies (none have been done correctly), including specifically those 2006 and later”}

So what you’re saying is nobody is right but you, none of the aspartame studies are any good, and you want people to believe this poison is a safe additive. People are sick and dying all over the world and you want people to believe its from a vitamin deficiency?

As Dr. H. J. Roberts said: “The assertion that methanol concentrations never are very high after aspartame ingestion is erroneous. I devoted an entire chapter to methanol toxicity in my text, Aspartame Disease: An Ignored Epidemic (pp 668-685), and show in Figure XXI-1 the dose-related blood levels of methanol lasting 8 or more hours.”

He also said “The assertion that many New Mexicans suffer from a folate deficiency is challenged. While I discussed such a theoretical deficiency in my text, there is no evidence that folate deficiency is widespread among Americans. For example, a Mayo Clinic study involving thousands of blood assays concluded that it was rare. Garst ignores the major roles of phenylalanine and aspartic acid in aspartame disease. Enormous effort has gone into this constructive attempt to ban aspartame products. I believe that it constitutes an imminent health hazard for New Mexicans.”

This, of course, is when you tried to mislead the New Mexico Legislature. So the Mayo Clinic did a study and found that folate deficiency is rare. Yet you want to blame all the symptoms and disease precipitated by aspartame on this rare deficiency.

If anyone believes this nonsense come to Atlanta where I have the Brooklyn Bridge to sell. No one can take you seriously. You’re just taking up people’s time. Who is paying you, John? I see where you got on another forum having to do with cancer, and the people didn’t like it there either realizing this is absurd. Betty.

Will we take a risk even there’s a study already? I can’t understand how it creates magic making them so sweet with just a little amount of it, of course there’s a man made chemical in it, do we still need a scientist to prove that? If those scientist can’t earn big money fron that sytudy will they exert effort for that? C’mon where’s your heart FDA and food industry ? You also have children who in one point in your life will take this wastes ..
