Beat that hangover – the natural way
When fellow NaturalCures writer Michaela went to a party at Christmas she told us she ate a handful of almonds before she dusted off her glad rags and headed out. She later said the tasty, healthy snack went some way to alleviating the horrible side-effects of drinking alcohol.
So as I head out myself this weekend – to an old work colleague’s wedding – I may just pop a few almonds in my purse.
And if you’re likely to consume any alcohol this weekend, why not bear in mind these top three tips from us here at NaturalCures.com:
1. Try some honey – It’s a miracle food that has dozens of uses – a hangover remedy being just one. The fructose in the natural sweetener helps your body metabolize alcohol more easily. Simply take two to six teaspoons of honey every 20 minutes or until you feel the effects of your hangover wearing off.
2. Drink plenty of water – It may seem like an obvious tip, but you’d be surprised how many people don’t bother. Drink plenty once you return from your evening out; one glass of water for every drink you consume will pretty much guarantee no hangover the following morning. Give it a go!
3. Grab a handful of almonds – Want to give Michaela’s top tip a go? Eat just six to 12 almonds before drinking to help protect the body against intoxication.
