Olympic Abs Workout
It is no question that sculpting a head-turning summer body starts in the kitchen, with healthy meal selections, and ditching sugary drinks. However, one cannot ignore the other important ingredient to a healthy and sexy body: eye-catching abdominal muscles. Some call it six-packs, some are over-achievers, sporting eight-packs, while others are content with just a two-pack.
The truth about ab muscles
No matter your ab goals, you should keep in mind that your ab muscles would not be fully revealed until you burnt enough fat, through high intensity cardio exercises. In other words, everyone has abs; but abs are hidden underneath layers of fat. Doing metabolic-enhancing exercises such as jump ropes, mountain climbers, burpees, etc, will ensure that you lean out as much as possible. A lean body is the perfect environment for thriving ab muscles. So, if you are looking to get those two, four, six, or eight packs, start with healthy eating choices, and intensity cardio workouts.
Olympic abs workout
A Swiss ball is an affordable and yet great gym equipment to own. If you work out at home, keep a Swiss ball in your fitness arsenal. It comes handy in a myriad of effective exercise routines, but one in particular that you can do (geared towards your abs), is the jack knife routine, using a Swiss ball. This workout is not only excellent for your upper-body; it will help tone up your abs as well.
Directions
Start the exercise in a pushup position, with both hands on the floor; then using your legs, step on the Swiss ball, lock your core and hold your form. Begin pulling the ball towards your chest, using only the strength of your upper-body and legs. Roll the ball back in the starting position. Do this movement for 30 to 60 seconds; then take a 10 second break and repeat again 9 times, for a total of 10 times.
